LAKE TAUPO ANNUITY.

ADMINISTRATION BY BOARD,

TAUPO, Thursday.

The ; Tuwharetoa Trust. Board, which is administrating the £3000 -annuity paid for Lake Taupo by to the Tuwharetoa tribe, has now been In office two years. Its : policy " has been chiefly to assist all those members of the tribe who are desirous of either farming their lands, or starting in some business that will make them industrious and thrifty, as well as being a source of revenue producing. Quite a number have already availed themselves "of f|fe privilege, chiefly for fanning purposes, ~aali^gdodt: has already been made. , -v.

Another form of advance made by the .board is to those desirous'of building better houses for themselves, and several have already benefited by it, ■all paying interest when due, besides reducing the principal.
