FOUR EX-AUCKLAXDERS

Otago's professional cricket coach, L. C. Eastman, will arrive from the Old Country shortly. Roger Blunt will again lead Carisbrook Club, J. R. Dunning, the ex-Aueklander and New Zealand Rhodes scholar, who narrowly missed obtaining his blue at Oxford for cricket, is also expected to play for th« same club, while Dickinson, New Zealand's fast bowler, will again be seen at the crease. Matheson, the ex-Auckland rep., will play for Dunedin, as also will Mark, a fast bowler from Auckland, and Bradanovich, the Auckland boy at Otag® University, and AH Black live-eight it. Dick Torrance, the veteran, will again be the mainstay of Dunedin Club's attack.

WAIRARAPA'S PROSPECTS.

TO BID FOR THE HAWKE CUP.

Present indication* point to Wairarapa being able to place a strong cricket team in the field this season and make a bold bid for the Hawke Cup. Among those who will play for Wairarapa this season will be D. C. Collins, the exCambridge and New Zealand representative. and the Rev. O. E. Blamires, the exOtago and New Zealand representative, who is now in charge of the Masterton Methodist Circuit. In addition. Dr. j Uttley. a former Otago representative footballer and cricketer, Bnnny. the colt who did so well at college at Wanga- ! nui and in representative cricket last season, and D. Riddiford, another wellknown cricketer who is now in Wairarapa, will also be available. Sportsmen are looking forward to Wairarapa holding both the Ranfurly Shield and the Hawke Trophy.

At the annual meeting of the T« Kopuru Cricket Clnb it vu decided to alter the nsme of the club to the Southern Cricket Club. The opening date was fixed for Saturday. October 13. The following officers were elected :—Patron. Hon. J. G. Coatew; president. Mr. A. Morran: vicepresidents. Messrs. W. Cork ill. H. Corfcil!. A. Deuberry. J. Hope. T. Rassett. K. Gus. C. Smith and Dr. Marshall.
