W. UNDRUM AND MeCOKACHT PLAYERS STRIKE FORM. There wa? some great play on Saturday in the professional billiards majch of IS,OOO up between Walter Lindrum and Clark McConachy at St. James' Theatre buildings. Both players showed signs of getting towards their best form, and Lindrum did a break of 269 in the afternoon and another of 541 in the evening, while McConachy twice got over 200 in the afternoon and did a 376 in the evening. Quick scoring was the keynote of the afternoon session, and McConachy at one stage rattled off 104 inside five minutes. At the end of the session the scores stood:—Lindrum, 8188 (breaks of 104, 104, SO, 269); McConachv, in play, 6607 (breaks of 189, 264, 243 and 151 unfinished). After McConachy had broken down at 6624 in opening the evening play, Lindrum put together the biggest break of the match in a run of 541. The Australian considers the table the best he has played on, and hopes to make a break of a thousand before the close of the match. McConachy followed with 141, and shortly afterwards made a break of 376. Lindrum, however, held his lead with an unfinished break of 10tf in running to points, and at the end of the week's play they stood:—Lindrum, in play. 9000; McConachy, 7444.
