WINS CHELMSFORD STAKES. TRAMWAY HANDICAP TO SYDNEY, September 9. Sydney Tattersall's Club held it* spring meeting at Randwick yesterday in fine weather. The race track was in first-class condition. The following wen the results of the leading events:— CHELMSFORD STAKES of 1250sovs. welght-for-age, with penalties and allowances; one mile and one furlong. LIMERICK, tjr g, syrs, by Limond— Medley (Mr. H. A. Knight), 9.8, including 71b penalty 1 WINALOT. ch h, 4yrs (Mr. E. K. White), 9.7, including 71b penalty 3 THE HAPPY WARRIOR, ch c, 3yra (Messrs. H. Raymond and H. Rankin), 6.13 S Eight started. At the half-mile post The Happy Warrior, who led the field from the start, was five lengths ahead, and leading into the straight he was three lengths in front at the distance, where Limerick dashed up, and after a great run the champion won by a length from Winalot, with The Happy Warrior a length away third. Time, 1.511. TRAMWAY HANDICAP of 600sovs. Seven furlongs. AMOUNIS, b g, 6yrs. by Magpie—Loved One (Mr. W. Pearson), 9.4 .... 1 HABASHON, ch g, 4yrs (Sir H. Denison), 7.7 2 CIMABUE, b g, 4yrs (Mr. H. Murphy), 9.3 3 Twenty-one started, including First Acre and Reonui. At the half-mile post Habashon led the field, and he was still in front when the straight was reached. At the distance Cimabue and Habashon had charge. Amounts, however, came along with a fine run, and finishing at a great pace the latter won by a head from Habashon, with Cimabne a length away third. Sion took charge in the straight, but at the distance he wa» tackled by Kalloni, and the latter, drawing away won by a length and a-quarter Sion was a length in front of In The Shade. Time, 1.37 i.
