Sir George Fowlds left for Welling, ton by last night's train. Mr. S. W. Leinnmn and Mr. D. Boham, of Wellington, are staying at the Hotel Cargen. Sir Edwin Mitchelson. M.L.C., and Lady Mitchelson were passengers to Wellington by the express last evening. Dr. C. D. Costello, of Napier, returned to New Zealand by the Port Boveb yesterday, after a visit to the United Kingdom. Sir Frederic Lang and the Hons. CL J. Carriugton, F. Mander and G. J. Garland, M.L.C.'s, went to Wellingtoa by last evening's express. Mr. W. S. Rewa, assistant master on the statf of the Taumarunui school, has been transferred to Frankton, and tj»ko« up his duties on August 1. Mr. M. Reaner, of Sydney, Mr. A W. Thompson and Mr. H. F. Penlington, of Wellington, and Mr. C'. H. Melhuigk and Mr. J. P. Donnolly, of Christchurch, are staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. J. W. Hayden, chairman of tka Waitemata Electric Power Board, Mr. G. Trevithick, a member, and Mr. A. Main, secretary, left for Wellingtoa last evening to attend a conference of power boards. Mr. C. J. Malloy, of Wellington, JJr. T. H. Webley and Mr. Charles Topping, of Wellington, Mr. John Adair, of Gisborne, Mr. D. Brown, of Dunedin, and Mr. E. Cornfoot and Mr. M. DAth, of Hamilton, are at the Central HoteL Mr. Innes Randolph, manager of General Motors, Ltd„ in Australia, arrived in Auckland from New York the Port Bowen yesterday. He is accon* panied by Mrs. Randolph and their children. They are staying at the Grand Hotel. At a meeting of the Taumaruiral Savage Club on Thursday night, a presentation was made to Mr. F. Miller, who is leaving to reside in Australia. On behalf of the club, Savage K E. Mclsaac made Mr. Miller the recipient of a gold-mounted fountain pen as a mark of appreciation of his services to the elub. , Mr. Arthur Totman, ong of the oldest settlers in the Okoroire district, is leaving for a two years' visit to Europe and America. On Saturday evening fce was entertained by the settlers of Tirau and Okoroire, and was presented with a travelling rug and case of pipes. Mr. Totman is a grazier 'and breeder, and it is probable that during his trip purchases may be made both in pedigree cattle and horses.
