FARMERS AND POLITICS. CONFIDENCE IN MR. POLSON. (By Telegraph.—Special to '"Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. When a confidence motion in Mr. Poison was proposed at the fanners' conference several speakers referred to attacks which had been made on him by certain sections of the Press. The opinion was expressed that the Farmers' Union, having decided not to enter the arena of politics, Mr. Poison, if he wished to get anywhere —and he had got nowhere during the number of years he had battled for the farmer —had no alternative but to enter politics as an independent.
