CHARITABLE AID AMENDMENT
LEGISLATION THIS SESSION
When in Wellington on hospital association affairs, Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, brought before the Government, the position boards generally were placed in, in reference to applicants for charitable aid, making false statements. The Government, he said, has promised to bring in an amendment to the Act this session, dealing with this and other matters passed at the last conference of hospital boards. Amongst other questions raised, said Mr. Wallace, was the difficulty that lioards had in collecting Maori hospital fees, and dealing with indigent Maori cases, and the Government has promised to give this question most careful consideration.
