FISHERMEN MISSING.
CAUGHT BY STORM AT SEA.
NO SIGN SEEN BY SEARCHERS. \

NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday.
Two men and their launch are missing from New Plymouth. A strong wind and high sea are running, and fears are entertained for their safety. The men are Alfred Allen, "aged 30, owner of the launch, and F. J. Bartholomew, labourer, aged 50, both married men. They left the harbour at 9.30 on Friday morning on a fishing expedition, intending to return in the evening, but nothing has been heard of them since. The harbourmaster, Captain Waller, and three men put to sea in a Harbour Board launch this morning and searched the vicinity of Saddleback Island. The visibility was very poor and heavy rain was falling continuously. They returned this evening. The coast in the vicinity of the spot where the men are thought to have been fishing i 3 for the most part exposed and rocky.
