HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE BOARD.

TE AROHA, Saturday,
The monthly meeting of the Hungahunga Drainage Board was held at Te Aroha to-day, Mr. F. E. Hughes presiding. 3lessrs. Gilchrist and Son advised the board to pass a special resolution in regard to the Matamata North special rating are a loan of £250, also a resolution for Piraunui special rating loan of £2500, and Turanga-o-moana loan of £610. This was agreed to.
Mr. T. Thompson wrote tendering his resignation as a member on account of having sold his farm.
On the chairman's motion the resignation was accepted with regret. i lie clerk advised that the estimate of general rates to be struck would produce £1842 12/3. special rates £1604 18/2. miscellaneous £24 fill, or a total < £3561 11/4. The revp-,,,
March 31 last was £1898 6'6. An application had been made to the bank for an overdraft of £2500.
The Piako County Council agreed to erect a culvert over the Wairere Soldier Settlement on a fifty-fifty basis. Agreed to.
J. Brunskill, Ngarua, asked the board's permission to clean out Mikkelsen's outlet, and also to make a culvert across the same. Agreed to. The clerk, Mr. F. W. Wild, submitted the following details:—Ratepayers, 224; valuation, unimproved A, £128,872; ditto B, £80,310, and C, £71,898; total loans raised, £34,876 4/7; loans authorised, but not yet raised, £3360; total rates levied for year, £3526 17/8; total sinking fund* as at March 31, 1928, £3254 11/11. The treasurer submitted a statement to the effect that £788 had been received in rates eiuce March 31.
Mr. H. was appointed secretary to the board in place of Mr. F. W. Wild, resigned.
