INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
PERIOD OF SUSPENSION REDUCED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNE DIN, Monday. When George Hunter failed to appear in the Police Court last Monday to answer a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car, he was fined £10 and his license was cancelled for 12 months. The case was mentioned in the Police Court again this morning, when counsel, Mr. A. G. Neill, asked if the magistrate would hear him on the •juestion of the cancellation of the license. Defendant, lie said, was still prepared to plead guilty to technically being in a state of intoxication, but it was onlv a borderline case.
The case was reheard, and Hunter was fined £15 and his license was cancelled for three months.
