HARBOUR FACILITIES.
ERECTION OF XEW CRANE. With a view to further improving it* facilities for unloading, the Auckland Harbour Board recently purchased a three-ton crane. This equipment arrived by the Hurunui last week. and its election has been commenced 011 the we>torn sidr of Prince's wharf. It will subsequently lie transported into position by t'ie floating crane. Considerable inconvenience has been cnux-l the harbour authorities by tii«- nondelivery of erection plans, but otherwise tbe work is proceeding satisfactorily.
Tenders have been let by tli«* hn;i rd for th" supnlv of a siniil;;'." crane tor Western wliarf. Delivery is promised in eight months.
