CASE OF MR. F. R. HYDE.

INJURED ON A FARM.

Under the heading, "Injured New Zealander is to be deported," the Vancouver journal, "Daily Province," of April 30 published the following:—

"Francis Raymond Hyde, 25, a New Zealander, is being deported to his home when m.s. Aorangi sails this week, on the ground of being a public charge. The man was the victim of an accident near Abbotsford, November 9, 1927, his injuries including a broken back. Since that time he has been in hospital here. Every effort is being extended to make bis long voyage as comfortable as possible. He will be carried from the hospital on a water bed loaned by the general hospital, and will make the long journey to New Zealand on it. Hyde has brothers and sisters residing at Gisbome, New Zealand, which is his birthplace. He arrived in Vancouver from New Zealand on October 14, 1927, and had just secured employment on a farm at Pitt Meadows, when he met with the accident, a farm wagon passing entirely across his back/'
