Communist Munition Dumps
Discovered.
EXTENSIVE PLOT REVEALED
(United Service.) % . (Received 11 a.m.t LONDON, April 23. The "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Perpignan says the finding of a bomb at the municipal gasworks at Rivesaltes (Pyrenees-Orientales), the manager of which is a notorious Communist who was recently imprisoned for contempt of Court, has enabled the police to discover a Communist munition depot.
This, it is believed, was intended to supply terrorists, who were planning outrages on a vast scale in Italy, Spain and South France.
A search of the house of a Communist agitator, Macary, revealed several pounds of blasting powder, detonators, cartridges and fuses. It is believed that Communists had removed their munition dumps, several of which are suspected to be in the district.
The police are of the opinion that the bomb was placed in the gasworks to avenge a comrade's imprisonment. They describe Rivesaltes as a Red city and apparently the Communists' general headquarters.
