CASUAL WORKERS' POSITION

Immediate inquiries arc being made by tlio Prime Minister into the position in regard to casual employees now on the signal staff of the Railway Department in the Auckland district.

Mr. H. O. It. Mason, M.P. for Eden, recently telegraphed to Mr. Coates, stating that the casual employees were ulurmed »t tlie report that, on completion of works now- in hand, in about, one month tliov were all to be discharged. .\* most of them Were murried men -vvilll dependents.
