TRIO FROM AMERICA.

MEN WITH LENGTHY RECORDS

Three wrestlers with long records to their credit arrived by the Niagara from Vancouver to-day on the way to Australia, where they are all — matches in the championship classes. They were: T. Alley, of Salt Lake City, Utah; R. J. McCarthy, of Canada; ,ni< M. R. YokeL

Yokel is on his third trip to Australia, and is specially booked to meet A. D. Santel in Melbourne. He "proposes to enter the tournament for the light-heavy-weight championship of the world, to start about the middle of May in Sydney and Melbourne. His last match was in Sydney six months ago. He he had not gone off form, as he h«d been training during the voyage with his companions and members of the ship's company.

T. Alley has had 85 matches in course of his career of eight years as a wrestler, and has won 75 bouts. F" latest victory was over Ira Dern, and lis is known in his home town as the "Mormon sensation." In Australia be is hopeful of meeting E. Thye, the light-heavy* weight champion of the world.

McCarthy is known in- Canada as the "wrestling Irishman." He has crowded 100 matches into the last 10 years has won 60. On March 8 he defeated Chief Montour, an Indian wrestler, at Moncton, New Brunswick.

Mr. Yokel said that Mr. Richard McLean, manager of Australian Stadiums, was now on a visit to America, and was in touch with the New Zealand Wrestling Association with a view to arranging matches in the Dominion. All three of the visitors expressed their willingness to come to New Zealand if opportunity f uned.
