ONE TREE HILL AND ELLERSLIE
Some little time ago I read in the "Star? an article in which it was stated thfct one fire brigade would not give assistance to outside its own district. I wish to state that the Ellerslie brigade for a number of jnn has always given its assistance to its neighbouring brigades, and within the last few weeks went to the assistance of Otahnhu, from which it received great praise for its wort Now the One Tree Hill Road Board has adviacd the Ellerslie brigade that in future it is not to attend any fires in the One Tree Hill district I am not going to say anvthing about tie efficiency of the One Tree Hill brigade, bat if a fire should break out close to our boundary and we receive the alarm first, which we taw t l°ne on several occasions, are we going to staad by and see valuable property, and perhaps life, destroyed just because of the little extra expense it would cost the One Tree Hill Road Board? SEC., ELLERSLIE FIRE BRIGADE.
