Described as a canvasser who sold portraits, Leonard Charles Hoskell was to-day sentenced to three months' hard labour on a charge of having been unlawfully on premises at night. Mr. Mosley, S.M., said people must be protected from itinerant canvassers of this kind. On a further charge, of theft, accused pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
