EMPRESS THEATRE
Heading the first-class vaudeville j entertainment which has been arranged by the management of the Empress Theatre for presentation this evening, there is a turn by Wilscfh and Millar, in feats of strength and agility. These two artists, it is claimed, are the two finest exponentsi of hand balancing in New Zealand. They are well known to Aucklanders. Another line turn on the programme will be by Arthur Austin, "the Tittle man with the big voice." He is a clever comedian. Jack Stewart, well known baritone, will feature several popular numbers, and Waata Hauita, Maori tenor balladist, will be heard in one or two songs. Jack Raymond ■Will feature comedy, and the. vaudeville side of the entertainment will be complete with a presentation by the Deli Sisters, de *uxe entertainers." Pretty costuming is a feature of their work. "Let Women Alone," a First National release, will be the chief picture attraction. Starring Pat O'Malley and Wanda Hawley, the film is a delightful comedy drama which should appeal to even the most dour audience. Wallace Beery, J. Farrell Macdonald, and Ethel Wales are in the strong supporting cast.
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE
Ifc is expected that "The King of Kings," which haa already been running at Everybody's Theatre since March 15, will create a new record for Auckland. Until "Ben Hur" was released, Everybody's held tha record with "The Ten Commandments," which, Ike "The Kng of Kngs," was a production by that master director. Cecil B. de Mille. In many ways ''The King of Kings" is the finest picture produced. It contains some artistry which has never been seen in other productions, especially in such scenes as that of the Crucifixion, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Last Supper, and the court of Mary Magdalene. It is played by a cast stronger than any with which another picture has been peopled. By order of the New Zealand Government film censor, the cast of the film must not be published.
