SHEEPSKINS ADVANCE. HIDE MARKET FIRM. Prices for hides wore very firm at the auctions to-day in the Chamber of Commerce. Sheep skins were in very strong' demand and sold at higher prices, the increase in some grades being fully twopence per pound. Quotations are: — Best grade ox, 12d to 12Jd per lb; cow. to 12Jd; yearling - , best, 13id, good 12id, second grade and faulty, Oid to lid per lb; calf skins, 14Jd to ltid per lb; sheep skins, dry, fine crossbred, 13] d per lb; three-quarter to half wool, lOd per lb; half wool, 13d per lb; lamb, first quality, 15d per lb, good quality, 12Jd per lb; shorn lamb pelts, 12|d per lb; hoggets, I4d per lb; Salted skins, best three-quarter to full wool, 8/2 each; half wool, 7/3 each; medium, 6/ each; poor and damaged, 3/6 to 4/ each.
