It is a pity we cannot revert to the old Christian practice in which the bislio-p of the diocese washed the feel of twelve of the poorest men in the district on Maundy Thursday." said Bishop Sherrington in a sermon in Sft. Peter's Cathedral yesterday morning. His lordship said that the institution of such practice in the cathedral on the rhursday before Easter would serve to demonstrate the reality of the truth that there was no respect of persons in the Christian Church. In his sermon he dealt with the need for ignoring classconsciousness and for approaching worship in the spirit of humilitv.
