BOARDING-HOUSE LOST.
BLAZE AT KIRIKOrUXI. (By TelegrapJj. — Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. A large two-storeyed wooden building of 20 rooms, used as a boardinghouse at Kirikopuni, was destroyed by fire early on Sunday morning. Mrs. Froude, the occupier of the house, was away in Auckland, and her daughter also was absent at the time of the lire. The boarders, who are Public Works employees, had gone away for the week-end.
The amount of the insurance is not available, but the losses of the owners, Messrs. Rope and Dalbeth, and the occupants, are considerable. No cause can be assigned for the outbreak, as there was 110 one in the house after 1 p.m. 011 Saturday.
