GRAMMAR SPORTS. MOUNT ALBERT SCHOOL. EIGHT NEW RECORDS. A whole string of records—no fewer than eight—were smashed at the Mount Albert Grammar School athletic sports yesterday afternoon. These included one championship record.

In the open mile championship W. A. Briggs won in 5.2 2-5/ clipping 2 2-5s off the previous record. J. Green, who annexed the School Athletic Cup, won the 880 yards open handicap in 2.11 1-5, the old record being 2.15. The records in both the one mile and two miles open bicycle handicaps were lowered by C. 11. Maslen, whose times were 2.40 2-5 and 5.44 2-5 respectively, while the existing records were 2.48 and 5.57 3-5. The one mile junior bicycle handicap was won by J. A. Tliode in 2.51 4-5, clipping 5 2-5s off the record. T. S. Finlayson, in winning the 880 yards handicap under 17 in 2.1G 2-5, lowered the record by 4-ss, and also accounted for the 220 yards handicap under 17 in the record time of 25 2-ss, the previous record being 25Js. O. D. Mills won the -ilO yards handicap under 17 in 58 3-ss, I t;> clip 3s off the previous record. As stated above, J. Green won the School Athletic Cup. J. M. Fraser was runner-up.
