AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE. Buyers of Bank of Adelaide shares advanced their offers two shillings this morning, but £9 10/ did not result in a selling rate being named. On the other hand, the buying offer for English and Scottish Bank shares dropped one and sixpence, the price offered to-day being £8 3/6. An advance took place in the buying quotation for Zealand Refrigerating ordinary shares, 16/ being offered, but no seller was disclosed. British Tobacco were quoted ex dividend to-day, sellers asking 40/3 and buyers quoting 39/6. Inquiry has set in for Westport Stockton Coal shares 1/9 being offered for the ordinary issue, and 2/9 for the preference. Sales were made at the third call yesterday of Waihi shares at 11/, and to-day Ohinemuri Mines again changed hands at 7/, at which rate there were still buyers. BUSINESS DONE. AT THE 3.15 P.M.
