HOSPITAL SECRECY.
CHRIST CHURCH COMPLAINT.
MAN SAYS HE WAS MISLED.
(By Telegraph.—Press association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
A Christchureh man whose wife has just come out of Christchurch Public Hospital makes surprising statements regarding the difficulty he had in obtaining from the hospital correct information concerning her. He says he rang up to see whether an operation was to take place, and was told he would have to see his wife's doctor, who was not on the premises. Later he found out that his wife had been operated on and was back in the ward at the time of his telephone inquiry. Then he arranged to meet his wife with a taxi on the dav of her discharge. The hospital had'said the time was to be three o'clock. When he arrived he was told his wife had gone, so he left for home. She was not at home, so he returned to the hospital, only to be informed that his wife had waited till 3.45 p.m. and that the authorities had rung up for a taxi and sent her home. Having 110 kov. the woman had to climb into the house through a window.
The matter will now come before the Hospital Board in the shape of a formal complaint.
