ROTORUA, this day.
The Rotorua bowling tournament was opened this morning before a large assemblage by Mr. A. V. Merriman, president, who welcomed the visiting bowlers, and hoped everyone would have an enjoyable time. This, he said, they could not fail to do, with beautiful surroundings and greeps in first-class condition. He referred to the tragic death of Mr. G. Walker, and asked his hearers to show their sympathy with Mr. Walker's relatives by standing in silence. Results of this morning's play:— SECTION' A. First Round.—Carlton (Richie) 13, v.
