NEW PICTURE THEATRE.
FULLER'S IX CHRISTCHURCH.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
CHRISTCHURCH, this day
Some four years ago Sir Benjamin Fuller aud Mr. John Fuller purchased a valuably central site (90ft by 190 ft) opposite the clock tower in Cliristchurch, intending at that time to erect on it a new and up-to-date theatre suitable for all classes of theatrical companies. Since then, however, other counsels have prevailed. The firm has reconstructed its old theatre in Tuam Street, and brought it • into line with all modern requirements, and has now decided to erect on the clock tower site the largest and most elaborate picture theatre in the Cathedral City; this in face of the fact that the firm was, a few weeks ago, offered £8000 on its bargain. An arrangement for the tenancy of the new theatre was made during the recent visit to Xew Zealand of Sir Benjamin Fuller.
Mr. John Fuller is still in England. Mr. Walter Fuller anticipates leaving London for Sydney in April. He will probably settle again in Xew Zealand.
