NARROW NECK SCHEME.
The organisation of an efficient lifesaving system is proceeding rapidly fl,.t Narrow Neck Beach under the control of Mr. F. W. Ludlow. The isolated position of Rangitoto in! the case of accidents occurring there; hfts frequently, been com* m'ented on an 4 Mr. Ludlow lias organised ft jjiotor-boat aiqbulance service for duty between the island and the mainland. Mr. J. Brooke has placed his speed boat "Op It" at the disposal of the proposed club and she can make the trip to Rangitoto in ten and a-half minutes. A system of signals will be arranged, and these will be watched for by the signalmen on Mount Victoria, who will transmit thein. by. telephone, to Narrow Neck-
Not to be outdone, the girls of the district are organising a life-saving club and will hold their first meeting tomorrow.
