SAVED A FIGHT.
Indian Commissioners To Be
Unopposed.
NEXT GENERAL ELECTION. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, November 20. The suggestion has been made that the five members of the Indian Commission, Sir John Simon (Lib., Yorkshire), Mr. E. C. Cadogan (Con., Finchlev), Sir. S. Walsh (Lab., Lancashire), Colonel LangFox (Con., Barkston), Mr. C. R. Attlee (Lab., Stepney), who belong to the House of Commons, should by arrangement between the parties be unopposed at the general election. It is pointed out that with the difficult and delicate duties devolving upon them, the Commissioners will have little opportunity to keep in touch with their constituencies.
The proposal seems certain of adop tion.
