Dufty paved the -way for the next score with a long, rangy kick Little chased with full speed up. Newton, with superior pace and splendid team work, were having the beet of the game, although Mariet were disclosing their traditional, sound defence. A swirl of play on the Mariet line saw a heap of players fo down in a bunch, and in the scramhle lenry scored. Dufty converted. Newton 20, Mariet 7.
Suddenly the Marist hacks rose to It Kirwan sent to Brisbane, back to Kirwan thence to Gregory, to King to Knott, and the wing raced over at the flag, the culmination of brilliant collaboration and a movement that swept forward at a pace that bewildered the opposition. Newton -> o Marist ..." i~ii
