ARCHDEACON DEVOY.
(By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Yen. Archdeacon Thomas Devoy died last night, aged 84 years. He was born in Queen's County, Ireland, and ordained priest in 1577. Two years later he came to New Zealand, and he was stationed successively at Christchurch, Kumara, Timaru, and Te Aro, Wellington. He became vicar-general of the archdiocese of Wellington in 18t>2. and archdeacon in 1599.
