SUNSHINE IN CITY.
STEAMERS FURTHER DELAYED A BLOW AT TE AWAMUTU. Sunny weather prevailed at Auckland I to-day, being a pleasant change after the wet and squally conditions experienced over the week-end. Stormy conditions continue to' prevail at sea, as the reports of incoming ships indicate. The Island steamer Tofua, returning from Suva, is now not expected to make port until this evening. Under average circumstances, she would have arrived at midday yesterday. The American steamer West Ivan has also been, delayed by the adverse conditions, her latest report stating that she will not put in an appearance before Friday morning. She was originally expected to-day. On the West Coast stormy conditions prevail, the bar harbours being unworkable. As the weather showed no improvement to-day, the Rarawa's trip from Onehunga to New Plymouth was cancelled, and she will now sail on Thursday afternoon, her usual sailing date. A report from our Te Awamutu correspondent states that the weather yesterday was very boisterous, the wind at times attaining hurricane force. Up till last evening no damage had been reported. Cold showers also fell, and the conditions were very wintry.
