Aviator's Fruitless Search for; Wilkins. OMINOUS SILENCE. NEW YORK, April 17. The last radio message received from Captain G. H. Wilkins was* on April 1. He and his companion, Lieutenant Eilesen, started on their Arctic flight on March 29, and were forced to descend on the ice owing to engine trouble.
