DRAMATIC SCENE.

Informer Accused in Italian Trial. ZANIBONI'S OUTBURST. ROME, April 17. j A clin'a\ was reached in the trial of; Tito Zaniboni, who is accused of the) attempted murder of Signor Mussolini, when evidence was given by Quaglia, who prevented the assassination at the last moment. Quaglia denied being a police informer and declared that on the contrary, he was a sincere follower of Zaniboni, who, be believed, merely aimed at an anliFascist reaction. When, however, lie! discovered that Zaniboni intended assassination he became frightened and j finally told the police to stop Zaniboni.l who was in a room of the hotel and had j already prepared a loophole in the shutter. When Quaglia entered the room, Zanibone showed him the rifle and wanted him to see if it was an easy aim to the balcony at the Chigi Palace on whi<-h Mussolini was to appear. Quaglia said he himself trembled with terror, but Zaniboni appeared cool and indifferent. Quaglia detailed various revolutionary schemes in which Zaniboni was engaged which fell through, according to Zaniboni, because funds promised by Freemasons were not forthcoming to a sufficient extent. There was a dramatic scene when Zaniboni sprang up and clutching the bars of his cage, shouted: "On the head of my daughter, which is the most sacred thing to me in life, I swear that Quaglia pleaded to the last moment that be himself should be the one to shoot Mussolini." Quaglia screamed: '"I deny it," th°n left the witness box, while Zaniboni trembled as with ague. The case was adjourned until Tuesday.
