METHODIST FAREWELL.

At the quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church, the Rev. H. S. Kings presided. The financial statement showed a credit of £38 14/. The Rev. H. S. Kings, who is removing to Whangaroa, was tendered a farewell on Monday evening, when a large gathering, widefv representative, testified to the general esteem in which Air. and Mrs. Kings are held. The chairman was Mr. J. M. Forster, and the speakers were Revs. Bycroft (Congregationalist), Salt (Anglican), Messrs. J. R. Trounson, T. Wilson, E. T. Birtles, I. Rountree and W. Hook. The latter made a presentation to Mr. Kings of a travelling rug and a cheque on behalf of the church and district. Mr. Kings acknowledged the presentation, and expressed sincere appreciation of the sentiments expressed. He regretted leaving the circuit, where he had experienced much happiness in his work.
