Mr Gordon Holmes, of Mauku, recently sent to England a consignment of Southdown-Bromley Lincoln lamb which was exhibited at Smithfield The consignment probably represents the finest product of the farm of the Auckland province, having been selected by tho Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co from other consignments offered" from all over the province. The highest price offered to Mr Holmes in New Zealand was 21/6 per carcase, but, when sold bv auction in the open market in London, an average of 27/ net was realised.. Acknowledging the re'ceipt of the consignment, the Smithfield show authorities stated that the meat was an exceptionally fine parcel, and that everv encouragement should be given to bleeders in the Auckland district to continue to produce such admirably saleable produce.
