USE IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, Thursday
The use of New Zealand timbers for the construction of school buildings when there is only a small difference in price between the local and the imported article, and similarly the substitution of locally-made for imported roof tiles or other roof covering, was urged by the Minister of Education, Hon. R. A. Wright, in a communication received by the Wellington Education Board at a meeting to-day.
The board decided to express appreciation of the concern of the department and endeavour to give effect to the Minister's suggestions.
