CARPENTER INJURED. HAND CAUGHT IN SAW. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Thursday. George W. Schultze, a carpenter, engaged in the erection of the Rotorua High School, caught his hand in a circular saw, with the result that four of his fingers had to be amptuatcd at King George V. Hospital.

WhUe competiug in an equestrian event at the Mataroa Sports, Mr. D. Thurston, a. well-known farmer, was thrown from his horse. His foot was caught in the 6tirrup and he received severe facial cuts.
CAR SLIPS OVER BANK.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Carrying 50 feet of fencing with it, a motor car driven by Mr. J. Bryan, of Cashmere Hills, shot over a 15ft" bank on Hackthorne Road. The car's descent was stopped by a stout willow branch and the driver, who lay flat, was almost uninjured.
GIRL TRODDEN BY HORSE
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON? Friday. Evelyn Read, aged 11, of Kaipaki, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital to-day suffering from injuries to her legs as the result of being trodden on by a horse. from which she fell.
