ORPHAN BOY'S REWARD. MODEL ATTRACTED ATTENTION. ((By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. * trojihv or a ride in an aeroplane? Which would a boy choose ? It is an easy guess. Fred. Manhire, of the Waimairi School and Presbyterian Orphanage at Papanui, had the choice on Monday. He had built an aeroplane at the model school at Waimairi, and had exliibted it at the Returned Soldier':- Association's Queen's bazaar. The model took first prize, and some of the military officers were so impressed that they told Captain Findlav, of Wigram nr it and offered young Manhire the choice of a trophy or a ride in an aeroplane for a prize. The boy, with Mr. F. Rule, supervisor of the orphanage, gazed at the Waimairi School from 1000 feet in the air.
