CYCLIST TAKES CONSEQUENCES
DANGEROUS DRIVING OX WHARF,
'"If you will travel without a speedometer, you will have to put up with the consequence?," said Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M., at the Magistrate's Court this j morning, when dealing with John Reekie j for exceeding the speed limit on the I Great North Road. Chief Inspector G. T. Chandler, of Avondale, said that tindefendant touched 40i miles an hour and his excuse was that he did not realise his speed was so great. A line of £3 was imposed. Hugo P. Johnstone indiscreetly travelled at miles an hour on the >a:ue highway and it cost him £2; while J. F. Dunn for dangerously driving on 111" Great South Road was lined £1 10/. Out, of generosity to assist two nun to reach the Niagara on time, T. 11. Clark dashed along the wharf at .'?<• miles an hour and failed to heed an inspector's signal to stop. He subsequently admitted that he was driving 21) miles an hour, which, on his own admission, exceeded the limit. The breach of dangerously driving cost him £2. while he had to dip his hand in his pocket for another £1 as the result of driving without a license.
