PRAYER BOOK FEUD.
Leaders Determined to Resist New Order. MUCH DISSATISFACTION. LONDON", February 27. The Lower House of Convocation heavily defeated a proposal to retain in the revised Prayer Book the bride's promise to obey her husband. The House of Bishops will consider Convocation's proposals on March 22. The ecclesiastical correspondent of the '"Daily Telegraph" says the evangelical leaders have decided determinedly to resist the new Prayer Book at the Church Assembly in July. They feel that the decisions of Convocation have gone seriously against them. Anglo-Catholics are equally dissatisfied. The Primate has conferred with the leaders of both parties, but the outcome has not been revealed. There will be a position of extreme delicacy if the parties persist in their resistance, savs the writer.
