ROSKILL ROAD BOARD AFFAIRS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—We think that the letter signed "Waste Not, Want Not," in your issue of December 10, requires an answer. Your correspondent appeals for an uncontested election, on the ground that this would save £50, and that Mr. J. R. Robertson is an excellent candidate. We hold that so much is at stake that £50 is neither here nor there. The affairs of the district have been seriously complicated by the resignation of the chairman, and we consider that it is a question of gettin<* the best possible man for the vacancy on the board. We believe that Mr. E. F. Jones, by reason of his experience on other bodies, his interest in the district, and his broad outlook, should be chosen, and we are therefore supporting his candidature. We have come to this conclusion after careful inquiry by our executives.—We are, etc., C. D. TREADGOLD, President ALLAN A. ROBERTS, Secretary, Eoskill West Ratepayers' Association. J. T. CHADDERTON, President F. WARD, Secretary, Mount Roskill Progressive Association.
