FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.

BUILDINGS DAMAGED. A two-storeyed building in Queen Street, Onehunga, occupied by Mr. Dale as a grocery store, was damaged by fire this morning. The fire was discovered by Mr. La Roache, who lives next door. When the fire brigade arrived the building was in flames, and, despite a good save by the brigade, there was a considerable amount of damage done. •It is not known how the fire originated. ■Mγ. Dale's''employees were working late last >night filling up Christmas orders, and when they, left at about; 10 o'clock everything was apparently safe. The top storey, generally used as living rooms, was unoccupied, and it was there that.most damage was done, the interior being practically burnt out. The large stock of groceries'in the shop was damaged by water. TJie fire spread to the iron building on , the north side, owned and occupied by Mr. S. Allison as a furniture store. .The near wall and a portion of the roof were burnt, and the stock damaged by water.
