MAORI FOOTBALLERS.
DRAW WITH NEWPORT. NEITHER SIDE SCORES. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 21. The match between the Maori Rugby footballers and Newport Club resulted in a draw, neither side scoring. The Newport Club always provides one Cf the strongest sides in Wales. It may be remembered that it was against Newport that the 1924 All.Blacks were nearest to defeat, eventually getting a win by 13 points to 10 in a most exciting finish. In 1905 the All Blacks beat Newport only by 6 points to 3.
