N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM.
AN EASY WIN. BRADFORD OUTPLAYED. LONDON, October 21. The New Zealand Rugby League footballers yesterday defeated Bradford North, at Bradford, by 38 pointe (10 tries and 4 goals) to 17 (three tries and 4 goals). The gate receipts totalled £275.
Tac visitors' team comprised: Dtifty, Parkes, Brisbane, Cole, Desmond, Hall, Davidson, Henry, . Carroll, Wright, Mason, Devine and Thomas.
At first Bradford dominated the scrums, heeling out splendidly. The bad passing of their threequarters, however, frequently let the New Zealanders in. The latter profited smartly by their opponents' mistakes and scored freely.
Parkes, Mason, Dufty, Devine, and Davidson secured tries. The goal-kicking was poor, Dufty failing four times and Mason and Desmond once eac'.i.
The visitors were superior in the loose play and their opponents could not cope with them for speed and trickiness. They also tackled ineffectively.
Lowery scored a try for Bradford and Melling converted. The Bradford forwardsvcontinued to he the more successful in the second half and the backs handled the ball better, but the splendid combination, swiftness and strength of the New Zealanders enabled them to retain the upper hand.
Brisbane, at halfback, gave a brilliant exhibition. Hp scored three tries, and Devine one. Duftv converted these.
Cole, Davidson and Mason were also prominent.
Bradford enjoyed short periods of superiority in the second jalf, in which Rowlands and Woodruffe scored tries, which Melling converted. Melling also kicked a penalty goal.
