DAMAGE BY SMOKE.
DUNEDIN DRAPER'S STOCK.

DUNEDIN, this day.
A fire broke out in the basement of Brown, Ewing and Co.'s, drapers, yesterday. The Fire Brigade confined th& outbreak to the cellar and the building was not damaged, but reserve stock* in the basement were damaged by,the thick smoke, which also permeated through the shop and other parts of the s building where goods were likewise damaged to some extent. • ■ • . -
