AUCKLAND ACCIDENTS.

1 BOY SWALLOWS WHISTLE. MAN SUSTAINS BULLET WOUND. A six-year-old boy, George Simpson, who resides with his parents at 169 Karangahape Road, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital last evening as the result of swallowing a small tin whistle. An X-ray examination was carried out to-day in an endeavour to locate the article. The boy was reported to be quite comfortable. Mr. Richard Robson, aged 39. residing at 41 Karaka Street, Newton, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, having sustained a fracture of the left shoulder while working at Messrs. J. J. Craig's quarries at Remuera. He is making satisfactory progress. While alighting from a tramcar at Dominion Road last evening, Mr. Henry Bennett, aged 84, of 35 Milton Street, Mount Eden, slipped and sustained slight, abrasions to the head. He was removed to the Auckland Hospital, but his condition is not considered serious. Through the accidental discharge of a gun, Mr. John Brooks, aged 27, married, of Panmure, yesterday received a bullet wound in the left arm. He was admitted to the hospital. To-day his condition was reported as being satisfactory. The condition of Mr. Claude Quilter, who was admitted to the hospital on Saturday morning suffering from head injuries sustained through falling from a motor-truck in Customs Street, is reported as being still serious.
