RGTORUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Borough Council met on Thursday night, the Mayor (Mr. C. H. Clinkard) presiding. A protest was received from a number of residents in the -western area against the Junior High School taking some five acres for use as a playground. They are to be informed that the council will give the matter their careful attention.
Rotorua-Cambridge Main Highway. — A communication was received from the County Council accepting the Borough Councils contribution of £400 towards cost of the rfconstroction of the NRonpo•taha to county boundary section of this road.
Abattoir.—lt was' agreed that the official opening of the abattoir take place on August 30.
