NEW RAILWAY YARD.
WORK AT CHRISTCKUHCH.
GOOD PROGRESS REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") CHR.ISTCHURCH, this day. When the Otira Tunnel was opened, the line between Otira and Greymouth was renewed. The thousands of sleepers which were taken from the old line are now being used for the new railway marshalling yard at Middleton. Though they have done twenty-five years' service, they are still in splendid condition. Good progress is being made with tljii yard. The main arrival siding has been laid, and the laying out of another down / the centre of the yard is preceding. It is expected that the yard will be completed and in use before the end of the year.
