PAPAKURA COURT.

SITTING HELD TO-DAT.

A sitting of the Magistrates Court was held at Papakura this morning, when Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., presided. Mrs. A. M. White applied for possession of a house at Manurewa and

arrears of rent amounting to £30 4/3. The defendant, Mrs. C. Priestly, offered no objection to vacating the house, but stated her inability to pay the amount due. The influx of immigrants had made it impossible for her to obtain work, but she would pay as soon as possible. Judgment was given for the plaintiff. Messrs. Markwick Bros., builders, i Papakura, sought from M. J, Velavich payment of £31 15/, alleged to be due ; for extras incurred in completing the erection of a house at Papakura for defendant. The latter, in evidence, eoiu j tended that the plaintiffs had no authority to involve him in such expense.
