The Conciliation Council is sitting to-day in the dispute between the employers and employees in the painting and decorating trade throughout NewZealand.
Xo alteration was sought in the weekly hours, but the men asked that provision lie made for workers to have five minutes before ceasing work for the purpose of washing.
Mr. Prime, the employers' said the employers expected service for the time the men were paid. He could not see that there would be any hardship in the men washing in their own time.
Mr. Cormvel] said that the concession was made in other parts of the world. Mr. Campbell said that New Zealand was the only country where he had found it did not apply. The clause was referred 'to the Arbitration Court.
